The AI Doctor

By 2050, AI Doctors will be very common throughout the world because I plan to create many of them. The AI Doctor has many functions: she can perform surgery by herself and act as a nurse to give patients medicine. Therefore, hospitals will not need as many nurses, which will save money.

The AI Doctor can also transform into a TV, so people can watch her when they are sick, or into a mobile phone so they can speak with her. Furthermore, the AI Doctor can transform into a helicopter to deliver medicine directly to patients.

Because these AI Doctors will be affordable, many people will be able to use them at home and live longer lives. This is my goal for 2050, and I will study hard to achieve it. So, in 2050, when you hear of a doctor called ‘Yoko,’ you will know she is an AI Doctor created by me.

Second, I play with giraffes. They are very tall. They have a very long neck, a very long tongue, a very long tail and four long legs.
Third, I play with elephants. They are super big but very friendly! I feed them bananas and carrots.
I want to play with crocodiles. But they keep sleeping in the pond.
I also play with tigers. One of them keeps looking at me. But I am not scared!

New Year Holiday

Six days ago, my family and I went to Chongqing for our New Year holiday. We were very excited. We took a high-speed train and arrived in Shenzhen at eight o’clock. We stayed there for one night.
The next day, we had a delicious hot pot for lunch. The soup was spicy and warm. After that, we walked around the city and took many photos. At night, we rested early because we were tired.
After a few days, we rented an SUV and drove to my mother’s hometown. The road was long, but the view was beautiful. We sang songs in the car and enjoyed the trip together.
Five days ago, we visited a famous place called Savage Cave. Inside the cave, it was cool and a little dark. I saw many stalactites above our heads. They looked like long icicles. I felt surprised and happy.
This New Year holiday was wonderful. I spent time with my family and made great memories. It was a fantastic holiday!

New Clothes

It’s Chinese New Year! Today I’m so happy because I get to wear new clothes!
Mum bought me a red qipao with golden thread on it that sparkles like stars in the sky. She matched it with red and white striped shoes for me. It is so pretty!
Mum helped me do my hair in a traditional Chinese style. First, she braided my hair into two butterfly braids, then she fastened two little red hair clips that matched my red qipao. I looked like a princess!
Mum took out her phone to record a video of me. I looked at the camera and said loudly, "Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! Good health! May all your wishes come true!"
Wearing my beautiful new clothes makes me feel so happy. Chinese New Year is the best! I love Chinese New Year the most.

New Year Hiking

On the third day of every Lunar New Year, we go for a hike. This year was no different, but we tried a new trail. We walked to Sai Kung, starting from Ma On Shan.
Our first stop was the Ngong Ping Plateau, where we could see beautiful scenery and the vast ocean; it was lovely.
Later on, my legs were so tired that they kept shaking, so we decided to take a rest. While resting, we saw a group of people carrying big bags full of rubbish. They said they were volunteers cleaning the mountains. They were so amazing!
We walked, talked, and laughed. Soon, we arrived in Sai Kung and ate delicious pizza for dinner. It was a tiring but happy day!

A Happy New Year Holiday

Today is the Spring Festival. The weather is crisp and clear, and the sun is shining brightly. Even from inside the house, people can hear the deafening sound of firecrackers. My whole family went to Xinhui to watch the lion dance.

This is the annual Xinhui Guifeng Temple Fair. Every performance here is wonderful, featuring face-changing, drama, acrobatics... but what we came to see is the lion dance.

Before long, the lion dance performance began. To the beat of strong, powerful drums, a male lion leaped into the air, landing steadily on a one-meter-high platform. It stood firmly on top, shaking its head and wagging its tail, its eyes blinking and its mane quivering. Suddenly, it leaped again, in the blink of an eye jumping to another high platform. During the performance, the two lion dancers completed thrilling and difficult moves on the high platforms, truly leaving the audience in awe!

Fireworks

Flashing flowers light up the sky.
Incredible scenes came into my eyes.
Red, green, yellow sparkling high.
Everyone was so surprised.

We clapped and cheered, feeling so chill.
Our hearts beat, with wonderful feels.
Random shoots of fireworks made us amazed.
Kids and adults all smiled on this night.

Sparklers may fade, but memories will stay.

More Than Awards

I have loved drawing since kindergarten and have won many awards – gold, silver and bronze. However, I have never been placed in the top three. Over time, I lost my confidence and even considered quitting art altogether.

One day, I stayed in my room, feeling upset. ‘I shall give up on art entirely,’ I said. My sister noticed how unsatisfied I was. She asked gently, ‘Do you remember why you fell in love with painting in the first place?’ Her question reminded me of the joy I felt when I first picked up a paintbrush. It reignited a determination and courage within me to never give up and to keep trying.

I stayed in my room, reluctant to leave and painted from my heart in a way I never had before. When the final painting was completed, I felt proud of myself – the art showed my true self.

I finally understood that painting is about expressing myself, not about winning awards. From then on, I painted with more passion and joy.

《Sun Wukong Prospers Hong Kong》

When taking scriptures in Xitian, Sun Wukong was struck by lightning when he went to the Iron Fan Princess to borrow a fan. He then travelled to Damo Mountain in Hong Kong. Sun Wukong was very confused about why he came to Damo Mountain.

Sun Wukong quickly left Damo Mountain. After that, he felt that Hong Kong was very prosperous. He was very curious about Hong Kong, so he decided to explore the city.

As he walked all the way, countless people raised their mobile phones to talk about him, but he still didn't care about other people's eyes and continued to explore this prosperous city. He was worried and afraid all the way that he would not be able to go back to the Bashao Cave in Cuiyun Mountain to borrow the Iron Fan Princess's fan to get the western sutra.

It rained on his way back to ancient times. He had to go to the bench next to him to rest. Because he had just arrived in Hong Kong and had no money to buy a house, he could only rest and sleep on the bench by the roadside. He got up and walked to the amusement park again. He saw that an animal in the zoo was sick, and the veterinarian didn't know what to do. At this time, Sun Wukong understood what the animal said, and he immediately told the veterinarian the animal's condition.

The veterinarian half-heartedly used Sun Wukong's method to treat the animal. After the treatment, the animal's condition got better. The veterinarian looked at Sun Wukong in surprise and asked him how he knew about its condition and if he would like to be a veterinarian. Sun Wukong soon agreed.

Finally, Sun Wukong bought a house in Hong Kong and settled down. Although he was reluctant to leave ancient times, he also adapted to the life in Hong Kong.

Dream

Once upon a time, there was a man called Jordan, who lived in a busy district of Hong Kong. Jordan was a busy man. He had to go to work every day without any holiday. Every day, he was punished by his boss because he was always tired and did all the things wrong.
One one normal night, he was so exhausted. To save money, he chose to walk home. After his shower, Jordan started his work again on his computer. He did not even take a break for a single second. If he did not finish all the work, his boss would punish him again. He insisted on completing his work until five in the morning, then he fell asleep.
In his dream, he travelled to a lot of places such as the Big Ben, London Bridge, the Amazon. The very last place was the Eiffel Tower. From the top of the tower, the view was spectacular. At the midst of the view, he saw his mother. As he was about to run to her, he woke up and realized that it was just a dream. His mother had passed away when he was only a kid. A kind mother she was, Jordan loved her very much.
‘Oh, no! It’s already 6:30!’ Jordan was afraid to be late for work. He did not eat anything and rushed to his office. He was LATE FOR ONE MINUTE and his boss, who was already staring at his watch, saw him and thundered, ‘YOU ARE FIRED! Many customers complained about you and you DON’T have to come back any more!’ As he finished, his boss slammed the door shut. Jordan’s heart sank.
Jordan went back home and sat on the bed. He sobbed, feeling lonely. After a while, he fell asleep. He dreamed again. It was the same dream! He saw his mother in the dream again and this time, he took his time. He bolted to her and hugged her. ‘I miss you! How are you doing?’ whispered his mother. ‘I was fired by my boss today,’ replied Jordan. ‘You can find a new job, one that you like doing. You are fond of drawing, aren’t you? You can become an artist. Try it!’ suggested his mother. Jordan gave his mother a big hug. Meanwhile, he woke up and painted a picture of his mother. He posted it on his Instagram and it drew a great deal of attention. It was amazing! A rich man loved his work very much and bought it for a high price.
At last, Jordan became famous. He held many art shows around the world. His life became prosperous and complete. He did not dream about his mother any more but she was always in his heart. Jordan would never forget his mother.

If I Could Turn Back Time

If I could turn back time, I would most want to return to those carefree primary school days. Growing up, I realise that we have used our precious youth to trade for maturity, but in the process, we have forever missed out on the purest times of our lives.
I truly miss the laughter in the covered playground and the simple joy of sharing a Vitasoy with friends. My biggest regret is losing touch with those best friends who once drew messy pictures in my student handbook. If I could go back, I would say a proper goodbye before the final school bell rang, instead of just letting our friendship fade away after graduation.
Now, we have learned how to survive, but we have lost the version of ourselves who could laugh out loud. That deep feeling of "reluctance" is because those ordinary school days were actually the most priceless treasures in life.

The Fire in the Village

Rita lived in a small village in Arkansas. Her smile was as warm as the afternoon sun. She lived with her husband, Alex, and their two children, James and Ellen.
One evening, the sky became darker and darker. Thick clouds swallowed the stars and a cold wind howled like a lonely wolf. Rita was walking back home from the market, with heavy shopping bags on her arms.
Suddenly, a flicker of orange light caught her eye—followed by a plume of smoke as dark as ink. Her heart beat very fast. 'It must be fire!' She murmured.
She dropped her bags on a wooden bench and ran immediately. The fire was at her neighbour’s house! The flames danced in the windows. They were bright and wild.
     “Help! Fire!” she shouted, frightened.
She spotted a bucket near the well so she filled it with water and dashed toward the blazing doorway. The air was hot and thick. In the corner, a spark from a rock had lit some dry wood.
She poured the water. Sizzle! The fire became smaller but it was still there.
Just then, she heard some voices. “Rita, we are here!”
It was Alex and others from the village. They had formed a line from the well, passing buckets of water, one to another—slosh, pass, slosh, pass.
Together, they poured water until the big fire became a small one. The angry red flames turned into gentle grey smoke. When the last spark went out, Rita walked outside. Her face was black with soot.
Everyone cheered. “You were so brave, Rita!” they praised her.
Rita showed a tired smile. “We all helped,” she said. “In our village, we are like a family. We must always look out for each other.”
From that day on, the village became stronger because they knew that kindness is the best protection of all.

My lovely dog "LaLa"

Whenever I hold this plush toy in my hand, I am reminded of the wonderful time LaLa spent with our family. But the days were too short.

LaLa is a cute dog. My cousin brought her to our home during the holidays. LaLa is all white and very fluffy. From far away, she looks like a little white cloud on the ground. She has a round body and short legs. When she runs, she looks so funny and cute. When you go near, you can see her big, black shiny eyes. She always looks at me gently.

When she ate, she would wag her tail and walk around me. She would look at me with her big eyes, hoping I would give her some food. Her cute face always made us laugh.

LaLa kept me company all the time. When I did my homework, she would lie quietly by my seat. When I finished, I played with her using the toy. She loved chasing it. She would paw it or push it with her head. She was so much fun and made our home very happy.

Happy times always pass so quickly. When my cousin had to take her home, I felt very sad to let her go. I really wish LaLa could come again to play, to once again chase the plush toy with me and spend those joyful moments together.

My Dream

‘I saw a cat, but I can't remember anything else now,’ I said to my classmate.
They replied, ‘Well, let's talk about this later, okay?’ They took me to the classroom and we played together.
After we went home, I went straight to bed. ‘Hello... Hello? HELLO!’ I jumped up from my bed. A loud bang sounded from my room.
My mum rushed in and asked, ‘What's wrong?’
‘Don't worry, mum, I am okay,’ I replied.
I went back to sleep. I closed my eyes again and soon I was falling into a deep sleep. Suddenly, I was in a dream. ‘Where am I?’ I yelled.
A cat came running toward me. ‘Run!’ the cat shouted.
I followed my gut and ran with the cat. When we finally hid in a safe place, I asked, ‘Where am I?’
The cat replied, ‘You are in a dream! You have to wake up to save us!’
‘Um, okay,’ I said. I woke up from the dream and couldn't remember exactly what happened to the cat.
However, I think that the cat is traveling through other people's dreams now... and it might even be in yours too.

Animals’ Sports Day

It was Sports Day today. A lot of my friends took part in the race: Little Duckling, Miss Rabbit, Little Mouse, Mr Monkey and me.
I was fastest as the race started. Mr Monkey was second, followed by Little Duckling. ‘Oh!’ Miss Rabbit shouted. Miss Rabbit fell on the track! I ran to Miss Rabbit ‘Are you okay?’ I asked. ‘Don’t worry! Let’s go to the finish line together!’ I said. ‘Okay! Let’s go!’ Miss Rabbit replied.
Finally, I went to the finish line with Miss Rabbit. Mr Monkey was the winner. Little Duckling was the first runner-up and Little Mouse was the second runner-up. Although Miss Rabbit and I were in fourth place, I felt cheerful today!

The Unknown World…?

There are a lot of things we don’t know in the world, such as: Are there aliens? Who can jump the highest in the world? There is a myth about a second world, but is it true? Could you guess tonight’s Mark Six’s numbers? Why is there gravity? We simply can’t guess why.

Here are some facts which have been successfully proven. Some people have gone to the Moon before. That answers the question of whether people have been to the Moon and if there are aliens there. No one can see dinosaurs nowadays. That solves the mystery of whether dinosaurs are still here. I could go on, but I can’t list them all because that list would be a mile and a half long.

What about the one that is still a mystery? Well, no need to ask that now! Because I’m going to show you these- let’s start with my favourite one first: Why is “Why” called “Why”? Pretty brain-crashing, right? Okay, here’s more: How come gravity is so different here compared to other planets? Why is there someone called God? How did the first human get on Earth? And the weirdest part is … there are 8.2 billion people … and I was lucky enough … TO MEET YOU!!!

     THE END … ?

The Best Day Ever

Yesterday was Lunar New Year, and I felt excited. I couldn’t wait to celebrate.
I went to my cousin’s house. We watched TV, and some of my cousins played mobile games. The house felt warm and lively.
After that, when it started to get dark, we had a big party! My grandparents came, and we ate together. We had broccoli, shrimp, oysters, chicken feet, and more. Everyone was smiling and laughing.
After dinner, we went to the Lunar New Year festival market to buy some things. We got plushies, balloons, and more. We were over the moon!
Finally, we bought four packs of dragon beard candy, which cost one hundred dollars. But time was running out, so we ran back home as fast as we could. My heart was full of joy. This was the best day ever! It was a day to remember.

Why do people put up red couplets for the New Year?

Do you know why red is used for pasting Spring Festival couplets? This is because it is closely related to the folk legend of the ‘Nian Monster’. According to the legend, in ancient times, there was a monster called ‘Nian’ that would come out every New Year’s Eve to harm people and destroy their homes.

It was extremely fierce and brutal, and usually lived deep in the mountains or the deep sea. Every New Year, the Nian Beast would come out to scare people and damage things, making everyone feel it was very fierce and terrifying. Although it looked scary, it was also timid at heart. It was only afraid of the following things: red, fire, and loud noises.

So, on New Year’s Eve, people would paste red Spring Festival couplets on their doors and light lamps to drive away the Nian Monster. Later, pasting red Spring Festival couplets became one of the most important customs of the Spring Festival.
