Accident of Escalator

      I went shopping with my mother when we witnessed an incident. If we want to go to that shopping mall, we normally need to take the lift or use the escalator. People usually use the escalator because we do not have to wait for the lift. It is just a waste of time.
      When my mother and I were about to use the escalator this afternoon, we heard some noise from the top of the escalator. We saw people looking scared so we decided not to use the escalator and ran straight up the stairs to see what had happened. At that time, we saw an old couple sitting on the ground. Their hands were injured and bleeding. They looked in pain. Some people tried to press the emergency button, and other people tried to carry them up. My mother and I immediately asked them about their injury conditions.
      My mother thought they needed to call the police and go to the hospital. Fortunately, this old couple only had a minor injury. They did not want to call the police or go to the hospital, so we left after they rested a bit.
      What a terrible thing we saw today! It reminds me to pay attention and we must hold the handrail when we use the escalator. I hope the two old couple will get well soon, and that they will never have this kind of incident happen again.
