The Legend of the Dragon

      This year is the Year of the Dragon. The dragon is a symbol of good luck and justice. Do you know where this mysterious creature comes from?
      Once upon a time, there was a terrible monster. The monster was so strong that even the tigers and lions in the forest couldn’t beat it! The monster always went into the forest and bullied the little animals. The monster shouted, ‘Huh! I am coming! I am going to eat you all!’ The little animals were very scared and said,’ The monster is coming! Run! Run!’
      Later, the God of Heaven knew the monster always hurt the cute little animals. He was very angry. He used his magical power to create a ‘hero’, using the deer’s huge horns, the snake’s long body, the fish’s hard scales, the tiger’s powerful palms, the eagle’s sharp claws, the dog’s sensitive nose, the rabbit’s clear eyes… After the characteristics of a total of nine animals were combined, a brave and strong ‘hero’ was born. The God of Heaven named this hero ‘Dragon’!
      The God of Heaven asked ‘Dragon’ to protect the cute little animals in the forest. The dragon defeated the monster time and time again. In the end, the monster said, ‘I’m sorry, please forgive me! I will never dare to come here again!’ The animals were safe and they lived happily ever after!
