A Greater Hong Kong
As of now, Hong Kong is one of the world’s largest cities, with a high density and development score. Although Hong Kong is developed and modern, it still faces numerous challenges, such as housing, the economy, and shortage of land. Therefore, I sought to find a way to fix these problems.
How will we fix the housing problems? We will start off by reducing the land of private property developers by 20% based on the time of the housing projects. But why 20%? Because if we take too much, it may cause harm to the funding of the government, as the government’s income heavily relies on land leasing to property developers. We will also demolish old infrastructures that lack historical value, constructing more public housing.
How will we fix the economy? We shall start by advertising Hong Kong as the hub for international corporations and introducing better reforms that supports businesses. I also seek to construct a mega-tower which will provide free office space for start-up companies which might have potential.
How will we solve the shortage of landfills? We will start off by transforming waste found in landfills into usable materials. We will then use these materials for everyday items. We could also distribute them to factories in China.
Thus, this is how I see we should attempt to tackle these issues and keep Hong Kong as Asia’s World City.
