Sick Day

The other day, I deeply experienced the truth that ‘diseases come from the mouth.’ The incident started with touching things on the bus, dirty hands without washing them. Then eating without washing my hands, which resulted in terrible gastroenteritis.
That evening, after visiting my aunt, we were on the bus. I fumbled around on the bus and got my hands dirty. After I got home, I picked up some sushi and put it in my mouth, even though my mother told me to wash my hands. I didn’t think it was that serious. After eating the sushi, I happily went to take a shower, brushed my teeth, and went to bed, completely unaware that a crisis was quietly approaching.
Halfway through the night, I started to feel something strange in my stomach. Suddenly, a strong surge of nausea came up to my throat, and I vomited everything I had eaten, even soiling the sheets. I vomited six times during the following days, and it was painful. I didn’t eat anything during that time.
On that day, I learned to wash my hands before eating.
