My Favourite Festival

       What is your favourite festival? My favourite festival is Chinese New Year. This year, it fell on 29th January in 2025 and so it was time to celebrate the beginning of a new year.
       During Chinese New Year, we can eat special Chinese New Year food such as red melon seeds, rice dumplings, tong yuen and sweets. These foods bring happiness and good fortune to us.
       Other than the delicious Chinese food, we can also watch fireworks, go to flower markets and visit relatives and friends. We will say, ‘Kung Hei Fat Choi’ to our relatives and wish them a prosperous year. The most important custom is that married people give red packets to children. It symbolizes good luck and prosperity.
       All in all, I like Chinese New Year because there are lots of delicious traditional Chinese food and meaningful activities at Chinese New Year. I wish everyone can have a wonderful new year.
