Chinese New Year Journal

 

              I had a joyful Chinese New Year holiday. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, we visited my grandparents in Kwai Chung.

              On that day, we woke up early and wore our traditional Chinese clothes. We brought some rice cakes and turnip cakes to my grandparents’ home. My aunts and uncles gave us red packets. Mum reminded us to say some blessing words.

              Then we played card games and the ‘Hoo Hey How’ game with my cousins. We used pistachio nuts instead of money to play it. Luckily I won. At last, I could get the largest amount of nuts.

              In the evening, we had Poon Choi together. It was so delicious! I liked eating the pork and fish balls most.

              It was fabulous to meet my relatives at Lunar New Year. I could feel lots of love. It was really my favourite festival!
